SUPERMARKET giant Sainsbury's has presented a box full of goodies to Wiltshire Police's child protection unit
After collecting various items from shelves in the Melksham branch, including sweets, toothpaste, toothbrushes and shower gel, personnel assistant Margaret Ellwood handed the box over on Wednesday.
She said: "Officers asked Sainsbury's whether it would make a donation and we were keen to get involved.
"All items came from the shop floor and there is a nice selection which will hopefully help comfort
the children. We enjoy supporting the local community.
"Both the manager and myself have children so we were keen to help children and families in distress.
"Sainsbury's makes donations to various organisations that write in and we try to help as many people as we can."
Acting Det Sgt Tim Carnohan received the box at Melksham station.
He said: "The donation will help comfort children who often have to stay in the unit for many hours.
"We appreciate the help. It is nice local businesses help vulnerable people."
