BOX duo Sue Cooke and Alex Jacobs enjoyed a highly successful day at the Wiltshire women's county finals on Monday.
The pair triumphed in both the fours and the pairs and can now look forward to representing Wiltshire at the county championships in Leamington Spa next month.
The finals were held at Spencer Melksham Bowls Club and were the culmination of two months of competition.
Players from all over Wiltshire have been competing since May 9 in a number of different disciplines and Monday's finals saw 22 players compete in five finals.
In the second final of the day Cooke and Jacobs beat Supermarine's Pat Jones and Iris Gardner 24-12 in the pairs competition.
They then teamed up with Sarah Newton and Karen Funnel, also from Box, to win the fours final 23-17 against a team from Bradford on Avon.
A Winsley trio made up of Gill Chandler, Ann Kirkpatrick and Sandra Bartlett won the triples final, beating a team from Alderbury 16-11.
The two remaining finals of the day were won by Rodbourne Cheney's Wendy Anderson, who beat Ellen Bolland, from Marlborough, to win the singles and
then defeated Wroughton's Brenda Hunter in a very
tight two-wood final.
Janet Seal, secretary of the Wiltshire county women's bowling association, was delighted with the way the day had gone.
She said: "It was a very successful day and I think everybody enjoyed themselves.
"Luckily enough the rain stayed away and allowed the players to produce some high quality bowls.
"There were 973 ladies at the start of the competition and so the winners have really deserved their place at next month's championships."
The county championships at Leamington Spa will take place between August 6 and 16, and Wiltshire will be hoping to at least emulate last year's success when they provided the two-wood champion.
