OVER 70 children have signed up to a Warminster Library programme designed to promote reading during the summer holidays.
The Reading Maze challenges children to read six books of their own choice and give library staff a verbal summary of each. If successful they receive a certificate.
Library assistant Liz Wolverson said: "The scheme is going well so far and has been popular with the children."
Warminster Library has also organised specific summer holiday events for children. On August 13 children under the age of eight will be able to take part in a Penguin Post puzzle based on the popular book.
This is followed by a story, craft and puzzle session on August 20 for children aged six-10. On August 27 children aged seven-10 can act out the ancient Greek legend of the Minotaur with professional storyteller Sue Hall.
