JUDGES have deliberated and cogitated and revealed the winners of this year's Bradford in Bloom competition.
A list of winners has now been drawn up in the commercial and domestic sections of the annual competition.
Councillor Philip Sutton joined judge Stan Hitt to mark the entries for the Domestic Section of the contest and spent a day touring the town to study each of the 39 entries.
Cllr Sutton said: "The town council runs the competition to encourage people to make Bradford on Avon a pleasant place to live, and this year the people who entered really responded."
Mr Hitt was head of the parks department in Bath before his retirement, which the council said made him an ideal choice as one of the judges.
Among the winners of the nine categories, David Good from Palairet Close won first prize for the best garden overall.
There was also an award for the best street, which went to Kennet Close, with second prize going to Palairet Close.
Cllr Janet Repton accompanied Chris Kirk, landscape officer at West Wiltshire District Council for the judging of the commercial entries in the contest on July 11.
Among the winners was The Scribbling Horse caf in Silver Street, winning first prize for the best tub or window box and the best hanging basket, while the award for best shop window went to The Olive Tree in Market Street.
All the winners will be rewarded at a prize giving at St Margaret's Hall on September 7 at 3pm.
Full results will be published in next week's Wiltshire Times.
