Congratulations to all those involved with this year's West Wilts Show, but was it really necessary to hire caterers from Hereford to provide bar facilities and at extortionate prices?
I noticed several customers voting with their feet and going elsewhere for a drink.
Is there not anyone locally capable of providing this service? There are, after all, two breweries in the area, one in Melksham and the other in Devizes (a visit from the shire horses from Wadworths would have been nice).
Alternatively one of our many local licenced establishments would have sufficed. Was this not put out to tender?
I am certain one of our Trowbridge pubs would have been happy to oblige and possibly a lot cheaper. Organisers take note, a thought for next time!
C Callow,
Trowbridge.
CAN I express my admiration for all the hard work that made the 2003 West Wiltshire Show such a huge success.
It was a fantastic window on the vibrant social and economic life of our area.
Despite the inclement weather, the event was clearly enjoyed and appreciated by visitors and exhibitors alike. Roll on 2005!
