RECORDS tumbled at Ivy House Lakes, near Chippenham, when the lake record was broken twice in less than a week.
On Friday, Elick Payne broke the record with an-all carp catch weighing 116lb, taken on pole-fished pellets on a 14 hook.
Runner-up was Ivy House matchman Keith Barry with a carp catch weighing 66lb, taken on pole-fished sweetcorn on a 14 hook.
On Wednesday the record fell again with Frampton RBL matchman Chris Davis shattering the new mark with a carp catch weighing 135lb 5oz, taken on pole-fished pellets on a 14 hook to take home winnings of £135 after drawing the golden peg. Runner-up was Ivy House matchman Keith Barry with another carp catch weighing 97lb 12oz, taken on pole-fished pellets on a 14 hook.
Payne finished third with a carp catch weighing 80lb 12oz.
Fish were hard to tempt in the Calne evening match fished at Hazeland on Tuesday and only three weighed in at the end.
Simon Fear, of Calne, won with an all-chub catch weighing 6lb 15oz, taken on pole-fished casters on an 18 hook. Runner-up was Nigel Smith, of Calne, with another chub catch weighing 4lb 5oz and third was Tim Carr, also of Calne, with a single chub weighing 1lb.
The Airsprung evening match fished on the Avon at Bradford Golf Course on Friday produced reasonable weights.
Richard Stainer, of Trowbridge, won with a bream catch weighing 9lb, taken on feeder-fished red maggots on an 18 hook.
Wayne Henley, of Trowbridge, was second with another bream catch weighing 6lb 6oz, also taken on feeder fished red maggots on an 18 hook. Richard Merritt, of Trowbridge, was third with a bream and tench catch weighing 5lb 10oz.
Other placings: 4 Matthew Oliver, Trowbridge, 5lb 6oz; 5 Teresa Merritt, Trowbridge, 4lb 14oz; 6 Roger Green, Trowbridge, 3lb 12oz.
Competitors in the Calne match at Christian Malford on Saturday found the fish hard to tempt.
Simon Fear, of Calne took another victory with an all-perch catch weighing 6lb 1oz, taken on pole-fished chopped worm on an 18 hook.
Martin Dolman, of Calne, was second with a mixed catch of roach and perch weighing 3lb 15oz, taken on pole-fished red maggots on a 20 hook.
He was followed by Gary Dodson, of Calne, with another roach and perch catch weighing 3lb 11oz, taken on stick floated red maggots on a 20 hook.
Other placings: 4 Sean Solomon, Calne, 2lb 7oz; 5 Mike Trinder, Calne, 2lb 4oz; 6 Tim Carr, Calne, 1lb 12oz.
The Derek Meakin Memorial match was fished at Burbrook Lake on Saturday when competitors found mixed sport.
Ian Stainer, of Bradford, gained a runaway win with an all-carp catch weighing 40lb 11oz, taken alternating with pole-fished pellets and sweetcorn. Rob Reece, of Melksham, was second with another carp catch weighing 11lb 10oz, also taken on pole-fished pellets and sweetcorn.
Similar tactics gave third prize to Eddie Hook, of Melksham, with another carp catch weighing 8lb.
Competitors enjoyed good sport in the Trowbridge match fished on the Avon at Staverton on Saturday.
Howard Carpenter, of Trowbridge, won with a mixed catch of bream and chub weighing 13lb 8oz, taken on feeder-fished red maggot and worm cocktail on an 18 hook. Runner-up was Gillingham matchman Nigel Bartlett with a mixed catch of roach and chub weighing 12lb, taken on pole-fished red maggots on an 18 hook.
