FORMER pupils of Headlands School are planning a reunion in the autumn.
Anyone who left the school between 1954 and 1961 is invited to the gathering, at the Moonrakers pub on October 5.
The secondary is experiencing difficult times at present, with the school having the poorest GCSE results in Swindon.
However, Headlands, which opened in 1943 as a grammar school, was once one of the most prestigious places for a Swindon person to be educated. Originally operating from a split site in the town centre, in September of 1952 Headlands opened at its present site at the top of Cricklade Road as an educational showpiece costing £170,000.
To find out more about the reunion, call Glenys Underwood (nee Gough) on 01522 680687 or Pauline Mobey (nee Hobbs) on 01793 877095.
