SWINDON & District Bowling Association returned to winning ways on Sunday at Swindon Bowls Club after a recent run of poor results.
They recorded a two-shot victory in their local derby against Oxfordshire Vice Presidents when edging home 118-116.
The victory was even more remarkable as the district representative side lost on four of the six rinks.
However, the big winning margins recorded by the rinks skipped by Dave Gough and Jim Nelson just managed to tip the scales in S&D president Mike Large's favour.
Gough's quartet ran out 32-13 victors, while close behind for the president's award for the biggest winning rink was Jim Nelson's four with a 31-16 success.
S&D's next representative game will be on Sunday, August 17, when they host Ealing and District at Purton (2.30pm).
