THE Nationwide Building Society, based at Pipers Way, which has been campaigning against hidden cash machine charges, has welcomed the decision to give consumers advance warning of charges.
Link has agreed to recommend giving customers early warning, in the form of stickers or early on-screen messages.
Nationwide executive director Stuart Bernau: "This is a victory for the consumer. Consumers face a monthly cost of £6 million in fees for withdrawing their own money from Britain's 11,000 'convenience' cash machines.
