CHAMPIONS were crowned in three of the four divisions in the Swindon Evening Cricket League, Compton's taking the Division One honour for the fifth year in successesion.
A resounding win over Zurich handed the honours to Martyn Spackman's side.
Zurich were put into bat and skittled out for 53 with B Khan taking 5-16. John Baden made 28 not out as Compton wrapped up the match on 54-1.
Nalgo are closing in for the runners-up spot after a narrow win over Nationwide.
Nalgo batted first and made 149-7 with Mudasar not out on 48. In reply, Nationwide were heading for victory, as Mark Vincent made 61 but, Mudasar spoilt the party, taking 4-35 as Nationwide fell four runs short on 145- 5.
Castrol had a convincing win over Winterbourne, who look likely to end the season without a win.
Winterbourne struggled to 79-9, only Horton offering reisistance with 21 as Phipps bagged 5-22.
Dickinson with 20 and Nichols 18 not out saw Castrol to 83-6.
DIVISION TWO
Crosslink sealed the title with a victory over United Churches, who are almost certainly relegated.
Crosslink made 126-7 as captain Kev Flay hit 46 and Chris Trewhella made 29. Churches slumped to 60-6 with Lang on 28.
Chameleon are still in with a shout of promotion after they defeated Talismen by 28 runs.
They reached 94-4, thanks to Kurnyta's 40 not out and Chew's 27 not out and Talismen could only muster 66-7 as Marsh took 4-16.
Lydiard may have blown their chances after slipping to a one-run defeat against Nationwide.
DIVISION THREE
CS Nomads can look forward to Division Two next season after securing the title as they tied their match with Sevenfields, both sides scoring 95.
Fox & Hounds had another convincing win, by eight wickets, over Ashbury to give them a chance of the runners-up spot.
Ashbury managed 100-7, but
Dale's 47 and Andrew's 32 saw the Fox reach the target of 101 for the loss of two wickets.
Monahans recorded their second victory of the season as they posted 93 against the RPs, who were shot out for 35 with Dickinson and James taking 4-15 ad 4-17 respectively.
Stratton, with three matches to play, look favourites to take runners-up spot.
DIVISION FOUR
While the title still remains on hold, Intel did their best to take runners-up position by bowling out L&K Skips for 71.
James scored an unbeaten 41 as Intel made 72-2 in reply.
The other matches were postponed, leaving Purton looking for another victory to take the title and Nine Elms to slip up in one of their remaining games.
