Chippenham Blades were well beaten by Corsham in the under 11 division of the North Wilts Junior Cricket League.

Blades could only muster 27-6 in their 20 overs and Corsham reached their target in just 7.2 overs thanks to Mark Hick (13 not out).

Second-placed Calne were involved in a thrilling low scoring match at Cannings in the North Wilts Junior League Under 11 Division.

Batting first, Calne were out for 43 in 16 overs. Only Benjamin Bastock with 11 not out offered resistance to good bowling from several Cannings players led by Jake Roberts (3-2) and Matthew Lever (2-9).

In reply, Cannings also found batting difficult as Luke Edwards took 3-4 runs in his four overs.

Roberts (13) was the mainstay of the Cannings' batting as the home side finished on 42-9 to secure a draw.

In another one-sided game at Malmesbury, the home side were dismissed for just 21 by Wootton Bassett.

For Bassett, Dean Williamson took 3-1 run and Gregory Davies 3-4.

The visitors knocked off the runs in six overs without loss with Sam Burdock scoring 13 not out.

Biddestone, with several of their squad on holiday, had to concede their match against leaders Chippenham Arrows.

Under 15

Chippenham moved behind inactive leaders Cannings with a victory by 192 runs at home to Malmesbury.

Tim Rowson and Daniel Jeary gave Chippenham a solid start with an opening partnership of 110.

After Rowson was out hit wicket for 56 off 66 balls, Tom Bowler (21) supported Jeary (49) to take Chippenham to 146-3 in 35 overs. Phil Adams (33 off 17 balls) and Luke Holborough (23 off 11) helped Chippenham score 68 off the next seven overs so that the home side were able to declare at 214-6.

Josh Humphries (3-34) and Mark Compton (2-38) were the most successful of the Malmesbury bowlers.

The Chippenham opening attack of Phil Adams (4-8) and Guillam Dancey (3-13) bowled straight and within 10 overs Malmesbury had faltered to 22-7.

First change bowler Scott Mackie then ended the match by taking two wickets off the three balls he bowled.

Sound batting from Lee Giles (37), Sam Lawro (45) and Tom Fisher (23) enabled Wootton Bassett to declare at 195-8 at Purton.

Nasir Nawaz (3-33), Simon Dickinson (2-31) and Daniel Atkin (2-40) were the main wicket takers.

In reply, Purton struggled against the bowling of Nick Jayna (4-17) and Sam Lawro (2-12).

Rivers (31) offered most resistance but Purton were dismissed for 102 leaving Bassett winners by 93 runs and in third place.

Tom Knight (23) and Darren Holcombe (20) gave Calne a good start at Westbury, but the batting fell away and they were dismissed for 119 in just 22 overs with Imran taking 3-10.

Lee Meadon (25) took Westbury towards the target but Adam Johnson (3-17) and Holcombe (3-17 ) brought Calne back into the game.

Hibbard (23 not out) steered Westbury home by three wickets.
