A CHARITY shop's new book department has been such a success the books are flying off the shelves quicker than staff can replace them.
The Cancer Research UK shop, in Havelock Street, is now asking the public to donate more books to keep customers happy.
"We are obviously a very well-read lot in Swindon as customers are always asking if we've had any new books in," said shop manager Louise Bartlett.
"Sometimes we are barely able to get books out on the shelves before they're snapped up by an avid reader."
Cancer Research UK, the largest independent cancer research organisation in the world, said it could put used books to good use.
"Each one we sell raises money and brings us one step closer to our goal of curing cancer faster," said Ms Bartlett.
Anyone with books to donate should drop them off at the back door of the shop behind Havelock Street.
