A CROWN court judge adjourned the case against Chippenham man David Gascoigne after hearing that the 25-year-old had a stomach bug.
Gascoigne, of Marshfield Road, was due at Swindon Crown Court on Thursday to face sentence for possessing and supplying class B drugs.
But his solicitor Alex Daymond told the hearing that Gascoigne had phoned the court that morning to say he would not be attending.
Mr Daymond said that he had then phoned Gascoigne and was told that he was suffering from a stomach bug.
The court also was told that a pre-sentence report had also not been completed as Gascoigne had not been interviewed by the probation service.
Mr Daymond said that he had seen his client a few days before and was told that he had not received an appointment to see anyone from probation. "He assumed they didn't have time to see him," said Mr Daymond.
Adjourning the hearing, Judge Charles Wade said Gascoigne would have to provide a medical certificate for his failure to attend the court.
