THREE former European Tour golfers are among more than 160 players at tomorrow's Pro-Am tournament at Salisbury & South Wilts Golf Course.

Andy Beal, Andrew Sherbourne and George Ryall line up alongside most of the top 20 players in the PGA West Region's Order of Merit for the competition which is making a welcome return to the sporting calendar after an absence of three years.

Numerous local and national firms are lending their support to the event by sponsoring holes or hole-in-one prizes.

The event starts at 8am with Upavon Golf Club professional Richard Blake being handed the honour of getting procedings underway. He will be joined by the Boswell Bros team of Eddy Boswell, Malcolm Smith and Barry Coombs.

High Post Golf Club's David Hutton is next off at 8.10am with the Mitre Joinery Ltd team, followed by Mark Ingram, representing the Mark Ingram Golf School who is accompanying Tom Sherry's team.

Andy Beal - professional at the host club - tees off at 9.20am.

The popular local golfer will be hoping to repeat the form which saw him win the Wood BMW Classic at Dudsbury last month - his first major success since having his left eye removed because of a tumour removed.
