BOWOOD'S Space Dive super slide has proved the final frontier for many brave adventurers but for its 1.5 millionth guest it was a walk in the park.
Those bold enough to take the Space Dive, known affectionately amongst youngsters as the Death Slide, have to plunge 32ft into a darkened abyss. It takes two seconds to whiz to the bottom of the heavily polished wooden slide, and young adrenalin junkies keep going back for more.
Joe Sloper, 11, is the 1.5 millionth guest to take the plunge at the 25-year-old ride, in the heart of Bowood House and Garden's adventure playground. In total adventurers have travelled 10,000 miles on the Space Dive, reaching speeds of up to 25mph.
Joe, of Kington Langley, who will be attending Hardenhuish School in Chippenham next September, said: "It's my favourite ride because you get butterflies in your stomach when you go down and you go really fast. You just want to go again and again."
The youngster, who is a regular visitor, will receive a free season ticket for Bowood next year.
