COUNCILLORS are appealing to community groups to come forward with more grant applications.
North Wiltshire District Council's area one committee has £40,000 in capital grants and £10,000 for revenue grants available to dish out to local groups.
At a meeting in June, councillors decided to hold over two applications until September so that more applications could be dealt with in one go. This was done so that grants could be given out fairly when they had more of the year's applications in.
Since June, the council has only received one more application and with the deadline for claims for September's meeting set at August 13, just a week, away, councillors are seeking more applications.
St Paul and Malmesbury Without district councillor John Thomson said: "We are particularly seeking applications from youth organisations and grants for recycling initiatives."
Any group interested should contact their local district councillor or call the council on (01249) 706111.
