VILLAGERS in Seend are preparing for their village fete and flower show on Saturday.
The fete and flower show usually attracts more than 1,000 people.
The fete is on The Lye Field in the centre of the village.
The main attractions will be the Devizes based male Majorwrecks, the Ancient Art Falconry flying display, Pete Weston's Jazz Band and a junior team performance from the Wiltshire School of Gymnastics, based at Melksham.
There will also be swings, roundabout, bouncy castle, animals from Larkrise Community Farm, various stalls, a barbecue, teas, ice cream and a beer tent.
The winner of the programme competition will win a day's boat hire on the Kennet and Avon Canal for up to 12 people while the grand draw star prize is a three day break for two at the Yarn Market Hotel in Dunster.
Proceeds from the fete go towards the cost and upkeep of the Lye Field which is the local sports field for football, cricket, tennis and village events.
The fete will start at 1.15pm with a fancy dress parade led by the Majorwrecks and the fete princess, Bryony Godwin, ten, and attendants Molly Hamblin, five, and Jessica Pearse, nine, who will be driven by Freddie Giles in his classic 1929 Bentley.
The flower show takes place in the Social Club and begins at 2pm.
Colin Waldeck, chairman of the fete committee, said: "It's always a big fete as it's got a good reputation. We normally get between 1,000 to 2,000 visitors."
