DONATIONS totalling more than £3,600 are being distributed to groups in Figheldean following the village's record-breaking summer fair last month.
More than 2,500 people attended the fete, helping to raise sufficient money to give a helping hand to more village clubs and groups than ever before.
The fete committee has decided to give the largest donation to the multi-court playing field project, a scheme to provide a tennis court and five-a-side football and basketball pitch on the site of the old tennis court.
The grant of £2,000 still leaves £4,000 to raise but more grants are being sought and the committee is hopeful that work can start later next year, with completion by 2005.
Figheldean's under-11 football team will get £180 to cover the full cost of replacing their kit and an identical sum will go to Figheldean Rangers FC for their new kit.
St Michael's Church is to receive £400 towards the cost of replacing the porch doors and Figheldean School website £300.
The final two donations are £400 to the over-60s club, towards a summer outing, and £200 to the short mat bowls club for insurance.
