DISABLED campaigner Barbara Williams is calling on people with disabilities to join her in Devizes Carnival procession on August 30.
Mrs Williams feels the carnival procession will provide a platform for disabled people.
Mrs Williams, 80, said: "The carnival procession is a very good community event watched by lots of people and our appearance in the procession will demonstrate to people that we are part of the community.
"We need to be accepted and recognised and by taking part, able bodied people will see what we can do.
"It will also be an opportunity to make contact and for disabled people to be available to talk to."
Mrs Williams, who uses a wheelchair, has booked a place in the procession and she is encouraging as many disabled people as possible, whether or not in wheelchairs, to contact her.
She has a banner depicting the European Year of Disabled People which will be carried in the procession.
If you are interested in taking part call Mrs Williams on 01380 723391 by August 16.
