Ref. 26057-52WITH temperatures to rival the African jungle, even parrots are struggling to cope with the heat.

But Bokka, a four-month-old African Grey from Toothill, has found the perfect solution cola.

And if that doesn't do the trick, his owner, Angela Muller, cools him down with a water spray and an electric fan.

Angela, 34, said: "Bokka loves ice pops, especially when he is getting a bit hot under the feathers!"

Because Bokka is too young to talk, he relies on his wings to speak volumes.

So whenever he fancies an ice pop, Bokka flaps about and heads for the fridge.

Angela said: "He is very good at letting us know what he wants. At the moment it's just cola and ice pops, but when Bokka grows up, he'll probably start asking for a cold beer."

The thirsty parrot also enjoys playing with Angela's children, Nabraska, 10, and Judex, 12.

Angela said: "He has baby toys and is shredding anything up he can lay his little beak on. He's particularly keen on ice lolly sticks and pencils."

If the temperatures continue rising, Bokka has another treat in store.

Angela said: "We will try giving him a cold shower."
