THE Kennet and Avon Canal at Bedwyn saw the fourth round of the Wessex Winter League.

The weighing-in sheets were impressive with more than 660lb of fish caught throughout the match, an average of 5 1/2 per angler.

Vince Grillo of Isis A team had the end peg at Iron Bridge. Fishing three metres to hand Vince caught roach and gudgeon for a match-winning weight of 11lb 9oz.

Mick Olden, fishing under the Devizes Red banner, also had bits for 10lb 11oz, drawn next to Vince in the same section.

Nigel Sawyer of Rover Coleview took third spot individually from the end peg in B section at the cottages, with a 10lb 4oz mixed bag, while Gary Laidler of Swindon Tribe was fourthwith 10-2-8.

Swindon Tribe have won the last three league outings to close the gap on Devizes White.
