SWINDON'S young Conservative councillors should get a bit of time in and live as adults under a Conservative Government before pronouncing on Labour as a failing government.
The present government has not got three to four million unemployed. With unemployment at less than one million finding a job is no problem. No double digit inflation or interest rates, so you won't be having difficulty with your mortgage repayments not like the half a million people who lost their homes due to negative equity under Tory mismanagement.
According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development we have a lower tax burden than any of the major EU countries, it fell in 2002 to 35.9 per cent of GDP from 37.3 per cent the previous year.
We have the lowest debt of any of the G7 countries, and growth in every quarter for six-and-a-half years. That does not sound like a failing country to me.
Allow me to quote one young councillor, Debbie Baylies who said in the Guardian newspaper that what the Conservatives need is a Tony Blair. I think you need more than that Debbie!
