COMMUNITY police officers Mark McIntyre and Terry Lee have been greeted with open arms on their new beat in Redland, Chippenham.
After enjoying six months of success on the Pewsham estate, the officers are broadening their remit to include Redland and ward district councillor Nina Phillips says she is thrilled.
"I have been a champion of this for some time and am very pleased that the new officers are now on board in Redland," said Mrs Phillips.
"There has been a lot of vandalism in Redland recently and residents feel something should be done. The paved area outside the shops attracts large crowds of youngsters and this can be very intimidating for people, especially older people.
"But we have been impressed by what the officers have achieved in Pewsham, in cutting down in unruly behaviour and are now looking forward to them having similar success here."
