Town councillor Ellie Bland is worried that children playing illegally on a building site in Calne could end up having a serious accident.
The former Newcroft allotment site is being developed into housing by Hills Property, but Coun Bland is concerned about youngsters breaking onto the site on her ward.
She said: "If the children were climbing up the mounds after rain they could be swallowed by the soil. Also if they start messing around with the diggers, God knows what could happen. It is a very dangerous place.
"Hills has secure gates, which are locked, and it has done everything it can, but if the kids decide to climb over the gates there is nothing they can do to stop them.
"Parents should take some responsibility for where their kids are and if they come home covered in mud they should question where they have been."
Firms on a 45-acre building site shared by Aggregate Industries and Viridor, west Calne, faced similar problems in August and were forced to employ a 24-hour security company.
