North Wiltshire District Council is polishing up its performance in the run-up to its first Comprehensive Performance Assessment.

The Ofsted-style investigation into the district council's performance will take place on January 19.

A team of inspectors from the Audit Commission will to check out all aspects of the district council's work.

Recently a peer group challenge team came in to give the district council a preliminary inspection with feedback on how to improve its presentation.

Now district council leader Coun Ruth Coleman is heading a working party to work on the recommendations made by the Challenge Team.

"Every council goes through this," said Coun Coleman.

"Wiltshire County Council was assessed last year and this year all the district councils will be assessed in the same week."

The district wanted to improve the way it presented information, so it was in the right place and in the right form.

She said the peer group had liked much of the council's work, such as consultation and investing in the towns.
