MARLBOROUGH Town ran out 3-1 winners over Pewsey Vale in a lively local derby in the under 16s Red Division of the Wiltshire Times and Chippenham News Mid-Wilts Youth and Minor League.
Pewsey were unlucky not to open the scoring, hitting a post and seeing a shot cleared off the line in early attacks.
Once Ben Crame fired Marlborough ahead it was the home side who began to get on top and only good goalkeeping from Pewsey's Scott Hull prevented a more commanding half-time lead.
Marlborough dominated the second half but chances kept going begging.
A Will Bryant penalty came back off the bar and several excellent crosses went unconverted before Roger Hill finally made it 2-0.
With ten minutes to go Pewsey were suddenly back in the game when a corner was headed home, but straight from the restart Crame finished a great run with his second of the game to restore the two goal lead seeing Marlborough finish 3-1 winners.
FC Chippenham moved up to third following their away clash with Westbury Youth. Andrew Bull put the visitors ahead, with Leon Bater replying for Westbury. Nathan Pritchard regained the lead for Chippenham before Bull scored twice more to secure the victory at 4-1.
Under 16s Red Division
TROWBRIDGE Wanderers maintained their 100 per cent record with a 3-1 home win over AFC Corsham.
Mark Dolman scored for Corsham.
The home side responded almost immediately with a goal from Marc Sutherland to restore their two goal cushion.
Despite going down to ten men, Wanderers never looked threatened and ran out 3-1 winners.
Under 15s Blue Division
HARRY Gale scored for Amesbury Juniors in their 1-1 draw at home to Marlborough Town.
Stephen Jenkins scored both goals for Chippenham Town Youth in 5-2 home defeat by Westbury Youth. Credit was given to the Chippenham goalkeeper James McCloud who played well in goal in his first competitive game of football.
Under 15s Red Division
IN a very competitive match FC Chippenham made the most of their chances against home side AFC Corsham and led 3-0n at the interval.
Chippenham extended their lead to 5-0 in the second half with a consolation goal through Aaron Neal for Corsham at the end.
Despite the final score the game between home side Calne Town Youth and Castle Combe Colts was end to end with Calne making the most of their opportunities and running out 7-1 winners. Chris Mocham (3), Luke Bennett (3) and James Elliott scored for Calne, with Matty Fagan replying for Castle Combe.
Jack Fisher and Ben Hunt scored for Lavington Bandits, but visitors Rowde Youth were on top in the first half and went in 4-2 up at the interval. Lavington played extremely well in the second half, defending superbly and drawing level with goals from Alex Bishop and Jason Hood before Fisher netted his second and the winner for Lavington.
Wroughton Juniors remain second after running out 15-1 winners against Warminster Highbury.
Under 14s Blue Division
THE game between FC Chippenham and visitors Chippenham Town Youth was an even matched contest and had all the characteristics of a local derby.
Chippenham Town took the lead in the first half with a glancing header from Alex Leadbeater from a well struck corner. The score remained 1-0 at the break despite both sides creating chances.
The second goal for the visitors came early in the second half following a number of sustained attacks.
The home side were spurred on by their second goal and finally made a breakthrough with a well judged chip over the goalkeeper by Mark Nolan. FC were unable to break down Town's defence again and were unfortunate to concede a third goal with ten minutes left on the watch. After the final whistle both teams were praised by referee Rob Holborn, from, Bradford, for the quality and standard of football played during the game.
Under 14s Green Division
A FINE five goal haul by Tom Walsh helped Worton and Cheverell bounce back from last week's defeat to take all the points in a 9-2 home win over Calne Town Youth.
Further strikes from Toby Mullins, Jamie White, Tom Cassin-Davis and an own goal completed the home side's victory.
However, the game did not go all Worton's way with Siegfried Barber being kept busy in goal. The highlight of Barber's game was a superb save low to his left to deny the visitors a third goal, following earlier strikes by George Madden and Jack Trowbridge.
Under 14s Red Division
AMESBURY Juniors held visitors Pewsey Vale to a 0-0 score in the first half but Pewsey struck home twice in the second half to take the points and replace Amesbury at second in the table.
Trowbridge Town Youth 2nds gained a 4-2 away win over Marlborough Town, Lee Ford and Joe Donnelly scoring for Marlborough.
Under 12s Blue Division
AFTER storming into a 3-0 lead, Trowbridge Town Youth looked comfortable in their home game against Chippenham Town Youth.
A degree of complacency from Trowbridge allowed Chippenham to pull two goals back but two goals in two minutes put Trowbridge back in the driving seat at 5-2. Chippenham battled on and netted twice more before the final whistle leaving the final score at 5-4 to Trowbridge.
FC Chippenham moved up to third following their 9-0 home win against Amesbury Juniors. Ben Copeland (2), Aaron Tinson, Jamie Penton and Jamie Proctor all scored for Chippenham.
Devizes Town Youth fought well in the first half of their game at Castle Combe Colts limiting them to just a two goal lead. Devizes ran out of steam in the second half allowing Castle Combe to net eight more to finish 10-0 winners.
James Harding (5), Matthew Loft (2), Joe Hylands, Matthew Harding and Georgie Nash scored for Castle Combe.
Under 12s Red Division
CALNE Town Youth sit comfortably at the top of this table following their away win against Melksham Park.
The game was close in the first half, with Calne taking a narrow 1-0 lead at the break with a goal from Mike Coulson. Calne took control in the second half with further goals from Coulson (2) for his hat-trick, Sam Pageat (2) and Josh Dolman (2).
Trowbridge Wanderers move up to third following their 4-1 home win against FC Chippenham.
Under 11s Blue Division
BRADFORD on Avon earned their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw at home Chippenham Town Youth.
Chris Newth scored for Chippenham.
Under 11s Green Division
IN a top of the table clash Melksham Park remain in top slot after running out 2-1 away winners to Calne Town Youth.

Under 11s Red Division
FROM the outset Devizes Town Youth dominated their away game against Westbury Youth and deservedly took a 2-0 lead at the break, with goals from Shea D'arcy and Daniel Case.
Devizes consolidated their win with two more goals in the second half through Sam Perritt and Taylor Worthy. Westbury scored a late consolation goal leaving the final score at 4-1. Daniel Case was named man-of-the-match.
Under 10s Yellow Division
AN outstanding performance by the Castle Combe Colts goalkeeper kept visitors Bromham at bay in a hard fought end to end game, played in a great sporting fashion which ended 3-2 to the home side.
