ON Halloween last year I opened the door several times.
There were large groups of children of all ages standing with buckets and bags all held out for me to put something in.
I call this begging and I do not agree with it, so this year I decided not to open the door.
Unfortunately, somebody decided to steal my shrub tub complete with conifer tree from outside my front door.
If this is what trick or treating is coming to then it's getting out of hand and needs stopping.
It used to be a bit of fun to dress up and call on neighbours you knew.
Now it is a house to house collection, and they help themselves if they are not given something.
I would like my shrub tub back but I don't expect that will happen.
