I AM writing to complain about the noise at the Trowbridge fireworks display (November 2). Not the noise of the fireworks, we fully expected that, but the awful racket blaring out of the Wiltshire Sound mobile unit during the display.
The records were played at such a volume that they completely drowned out some of the bigger bombs, let alone the more subtle works.
I am aware that some of the more advanced pyrotechnic companies have the ability to synchronise the sounds of the fireworks with the beats of the music, but all we heard were random tracks from smash hits 2002 set alongside more random explosions.
I am so disappointed only because by three-year-old son asked me to turn the music down because he couldn't hear the fireworks.
Call me a traditionalist but surely you go to a firework display for the whole firework experience, noises and all, not hip-pop music. The firework code says keep fireworks in a closed box, next year.
