TEENAGER Danielle Jalowiecka has become the musical toast of Trowbridge after scooping a coveted prize.
Recorder-playing Danielle, an A-Level student at St Augustine's Catholic College, was visibly stunned after being crowned Young Musician of the Year at Bath's Pump Room on Thursday.
Danielle was judged to be the best of the youngsters performing at the Mid-Somerset Festival, beating four other finalists. Her school's head of music, Richard O'Mahony, said the 17-year-old's interaction with the audience helped her clinch the top spot.
He said: "As well as her technical ability her stage presence was phenomenal. The standard was incredibly high. Danielle makes you feel very at ease.
"For Trowbridge it was brilliant as she was competing against four students from public schools in Bath."
