WILTSHIRE County Council is consulting the residents of Bowerhill in Melksham on proposals for a new traffic-calming scheme.
The proposals, which cover Falcon Road, Mitchell Drive and Halifax Road, include 'build-outs', which reduce the road width to one lane to slow down traffic.
Other features could include speed bumps and pedestrian refuge islands, which make crossing safer for walkers.
A spokesman for the county council said: "The overall aim of the scheme is to make the area safer, to slow down traffic and improve facilities for pedestrians.
"Letters, leaflets and questionnaires will be delivered to residents' homes throughout the area.
"Residents will be asked to fill in the questionnaire and give their views on the scheme."
The consultation period starts on November 17 and residents will then have three weeks to comment on the proposed scheme.
The project is being developed by the county council, with Ringway Parkman acting as consultants.
Housing developers Westbury Homes and Bloor Homes have funded the scheme.
