THERE were no miracles at Hillsborough on Sunday as Salisbury City crashed 4-1 to Sheffield Wednesday in the first round of the FA Cup but Polly Parrot did not let the result spoil his big day.
The former Trowbridge Town stalwart has been physio at Salisbury for the last 20 years and he described Sunday's match as one of the greatest days of his footballing career.
He said: "The day went really well and it was a brilliant weekend.
"It was as good as I expected it to be, if not better, even though we lost 4-1.
"The ground is a fantastic venue with great facilities and really good surroundings. Every-body enjoyed it. It was certainly one of the most memorable occasions of my career.
"The atmosphere was amazing. Our fans were brilliant and had a lot of fun cheering us on.
"The Sheffield band made a right racket and when they were in full voice it was hard to hear yourself think.
"It is the sort of opportunity that many of the older players and staff like me may never experience again so we made sure we made the most of it."
