I FAIL to see the logic in deputy council leader Ian Dobie's remarks (Evening Advertiser, November 14) when he says: "If you look across the whole country, just about every local authority has increased its council tax year on year well above the rate of inflation. That means we can't all be getting it wrong".

But what he does not mention is that most of the residents across "the whole of the country" are "shouting" from the roof tops about the high increases in the council tax, and it's like saying "our really high council tax is on a par with your really high council tax!" So that makes everything "all right".
