I MUST respond to the remarks by Bernie Brennan in Friday's Evening Advertiser in reference to 133/135 County Road hostel.
His remarks totally ignored the reasons for the concerns of the Broad Street Community Council and the problems that will arise from a hostel of which it is purported will house the homeless of which the borough council is only concerned with saving monies and reducing the expenditure of the housing budget.
We as a community council only requested that there should be a resident caretaker, a small price to pay to eliminate anti-social behaviour, I would respectfully ask that all the councillors and Bernie Brennan move into County Road alongside the hostel, or better still perhaps someone could act as unpaid caretaker in order that a quality of life for the residents is maintained.
