THE BLUEBIRDS will be looking for their first league victory under caretaker boss Adie Mings when they travel to Merthyr Tydfil this weekend.
The two sides met at Hardenhuish Park back in September when they shared six goals in a humdinger of a match.
Cortez Belle, who was being watched by Bristol Rovers manager Ray Graydon, scored an inspired hat-trick for Merthyr.
Not content with that he also thundered a header past his own goalkeeper to bring Chippenham back into the match.
Belle's two goals in a ten-minute spell before half-time had put the visitors in the driving seat at the break.
His first effort took a wicked deflection off Wayne Thorne's boot to loop over goalkeeper Mark Hervin and he headed his second in first half stoppage time.
But the Bluebirds put in a storming second half effort and Belle was forced into conceding an own goal before Martin Paul fired Chippenham level.
Further pressure resulted in an own goal by Merthyr's Gary Thorne to put the Bluebirds in front for the first time.
But Belle had the last word when he dispatched a 94th minute penalty equaliser to complete his treble after Charlie Griffin had handled on the line.
Merthyr go into the game having thrown away the chance of picking up an important away win against mid-table Dover Athletic.
The first half was embarrassingly one-sided, with Merthyr completely dominating and taking a 2-0 lead into the break.
They had already had three decent chances before they took a 15th minute lead.
Michael Regan wrong-footed the Dover defence to send Paul Keddle through on the left flank and he crossed for Jason Donavan to head home at the near post.
Ten minutes later Merthyr were awarded a disputed penalty when Cortez Belle's shot was pushed out by Dover goalkeeper Paul Hyde and Dean Readings was adjudged to have held down Donovan.
Belle took the responsibility from the penalty spot and coolly sent Hyde the wrong way.
But the game turned on its head in the second half as Dover improved greatly.
Lee Spiller gave them a lifeline when he hammered a 20-yard effort into the top corner and Merthyr were soon ruing their missed chances in the first 45 minutes. Dover substitute Tony Browne's cross was only half cleared and Jamie Day's shot rebounded to Crofts who beat Merthyr goalkeeper Neil Thomas with a low drive.
