DA4380P01BUSINESS partners Tom Mettyear and Mark Sparrow collected the City Centre Award at the Salisbury and district chamber of commerce and industry presentation evening at the City Hall on Saturday.
Tom and Mark, who run Neal's Yard Remedies, in the Cheese Market, Salisbury, won the award for their "total involvement with the city" - including participation in the City of Flowers, their support for the Salisbury Festival, organising herbal walks, talks and health workshops and their participation in the city's Christmas lights event.
The award was put up by City Centre Management and the duo were presented with a silver cup and a certificate by Spire FM's Ceri Hurford-Jones, in his role as City Centre Management's vice-chairman.
Runner-up for the City Centre Award was Salisbury tourist information centre.
Another of the top business awards, Business Link Entrepreneur of the Year, went to hairdresser and Toni and Guy franchise holder Phil Smith.
Phil was said to be in Australia opening his 21st salon and the award was accepted on his behalf by his Salisbury salon manager, John Ellis.
Runner-up for the Entrepreneur award was Rodney Flux, of Opperman Engineering.
And honourable mention was made of Mari Clack and Elizabeth Shield, of Cloud Nine.
The Spire FM Award for Customer Services, also presented by Ceri Hurford-Jones, went to Vision Express. Runners-up were Mark Jones Garden & Maintenance Services and Wisewalk Resources.
