Pewsey parish councillors are to set out a wish list of improvements and new facilities for the village. The idea, put forward on Tuesday by vice-chairman Phil Stevens, was adopted by the council.

It came after the council received a presentation from Frank Marshall, the director of resources at Kennet District Council. A question was raised about financing projects like the Angela Yeates Memorial sports field recently purchased for £55,000 by the parish council.

The council had to borrow money for the project but Mr Marshall said there could have been grant aid available if the council had the time to explore all the possibilities.

Coun Stevens said: "We really ought to think about having a wish list, a list of things we want to do whether we can afford them or not.

"It will be very constructive to have a list and to be able to say we have done that and that but still need to do this and that."

It was agreed the clerk should compile a list and councillors were urged to put forward ideas for inclusion.
