TROWBRIDGE LEAGUE: SIX players dismissed, six penalties and five hat-tricks greeted the first full league programme since the opening day of the season.

Hilperton Reserves Anthony Bell and Darren Carter of Apetito saw red for deliberate handling offences.

Dursley Arms' Pat Godfrey and Seend's Barry Holloway were also red carded, the latter in injury time and Daniel Gernonn, of Castle Combe, and Dilton Marsh's Pete Spong suffered for second bookable offences.

Apetito's thrilling 4-3 double over Bromham was only ten minutes old when Carter was dismissed. By then Neil Griffiths had already wiped out Richard Dyke's opener for Bromham.

Steve Escott netted from the penalty before ten-men Apetito levelled through another penalty from Nigel Penelhum. Alan House and Stuart Inglis established a 4-2 lead before Dyke struck again.

Jamie Winks had already fired in a hat-trick, the first two from penalties, when Castle Combe went down to ten men against Seend United who, with Aaron Richardson replying earlier, hit back through Ralph Plummer and Richardson again to snatch a 3-3 draw.

The Division One return match is tomorrow.

Seend Reserves' striker Chris Bishop pressed his claim for a first team place with a second hat-trick of the season as the Division Three leaders bounced back from two disappointing results to complete a 4-2 double over Frome Town Sports A whose two-goal interval deficit inflicted by Bishop was reduced by Andy Mitchell's penalty. Clive Bradley also pulled a goal back after Bishop had struck again before Frank Rogers sealed the points.

Castle Combe Reserves' Shawn House upstaged everyone by scoring four goals against Semington Magpies .

Unbeaten Trowbridge United trailed at bottom of the table Lavington and Easterton at the break but goals from Ben Tilling and Scott Askew maintained their unbeaten record while neighbours Steeple Ashton and Bratton fought out a 1-1 stalemate.
