A LAST-GASP try saw Frome take the honours in this friendly clash at Devizes on Saturday.
For the second week in a row Devizes had a poor build up to the game against their senior opponents Frome.
Some late additions to the side boosted depleted Devizes and they went into the match with renewed confidence.
Devizes received the kick-off and were pleasantly surprised that the forwards were able to make 30 metres with close ball work with the pick up and drive with Rudler leading the way.
Although the result of the drive was a scrum to Frome the Devizes pack woke up further when they pushed the home side back from the ball.
After this brief period in their opponents' half Devizes were then pinned back to their own 22.
Frome were unlucky to have a try disallowed from a well-worked move in the forwards but the Devizes defence was strong.
After 20 minutes of pressure at last Gareth Jones broke through using his blistering pace.
He managed to break four tackles and run 30 metres only to be stopped just short of the line.
Two minutes later it was Jones again who made a wonderful break from the back of a Devizes scrum to come close again leading to indiscipline from Frome but the penalty was unconverted.
The pressure from Devizes was maintained and Dickenson was tackled illegally from the base of a scrum but again the kick was unconverted.
Frome also missed a penalty to leave the first half at a 0-0 stalemate.
With the two sides evenly matched the first 13 minutes of the second half were played in the centre of the park.
Both sides managed to encroach offside but neither was able to break the deadlock.
Frome then took a drop out from the missed penalty and it was received by a fast moving Alchin.
The Devizes pack rumbled on for another 10 metres and then released the backs.
The move was stopped short of the line but the with good teamwork the Devizes forwards were able to go over the line for an unconverted try by Prima.
The restart brought further frustration for Frome and when a penalty was awarded to Devizes in the Frome 22 the home side's number eight took umbrage to the decision and was sent for ten minutes.
This did not deter the Frome team and the fly half was constantly testing the Devizes line with probing kicks and some good runs.
It was a quick break from the Frome fly half which lead to two phases of play from one side of the pitch to the other leading to an overlap on the wing which gave Frome the points to draw level at 5-5.
The Devizes team re-grouped but they were immediately pinned back in to their own 22.
In the 79th minute the Frome fly half released a high kick across the park which proved very difficult to take by a retreating Davies.
The ball popped out and Frome were able to go over for a last-gasp try right on the referee's whistle.
