WHEATSHEAF Cabin Crew progressed to the Quarter Final of the Dorset and Wilts Vase after Swindon College Old Boys withdrew from Saturday's fixture at the last minute.

Crew were informed that Swindon were unable to field a team at 9am - just five hours before the tie was due to kick off.

Skipper Greg Fergusson said he would rather his team had reached the next stage of the competition on merit, but admitted he was relieved not to have played the Swindon outfit.

"They are a side with the worst disciplinary record in Dorset and Wiltshire," said the captain who has been buoyed by the number of new additions to the club's playing squad.

Fergusson believes England's success in the World Cup in Australia has played its part in their recruitment success.

Cabin Crew's next fixture is at Marlborough on November 29.

Their cup quarter final is scheduled for December 13 though they have yet to discover who they will meet.

SALISBURY'S under 14s enjoyed a resounding 59-5 success in their game with Oakmeadians. Nick Morris and Tom Cronin scored two tries each with Tom Burlton, Edward Pizzey, Michael Patterson, Sam Beer, James Brazier, Sean Barwick and Sam Woolford also crossing the line. Cronin added two conversions.
