LUCKINGTON Village Hall is spick and span after a £20,000 revamp. The building has been restored to its former glory with new toilets and a redecoration, and a new central heating system promises to keep users warm during the winter months.
The money raised from grants and the community was used to hire local tradesmen who completed the work during the last six months.
Bill Plews, a hall trustee, said the building was now a valuable resource as the only meeting place for the village.
He said: "It now is a really useful facility. It has been professionally done and looks fantastic. The new central heating that has been installed has made quite a difference, it makes people more relaxed when they walk in on a cold winter's evening."
The hall was built in 1925 as a memorial to those men of the village who fought in the First World War and has been there for the benefit of the village ever since.
To hire the hall during the weekend costs £40 a day, to book call Mr Plews on (01666) 840848.
