WOOTTON BASSETT and Pewsey Vale are finding life tough in the Hellenic League Premier Division.

They lie in the bottom four of the table and this weekend face top 10 clubs at home.

Bassett have struggled to hit the back of the net, only succeeding 12 times in 17 games and meet fifth-placed Brackley.

"Scoring goals is a big problem, admitted Bassett boss Pete Yeardley. "We are creating chances but need to be more clinical in front of goal.

"Brackley are the league's in-form side and have won their last nine or 10 on the bounce. It will be a toughie, even at home, but this team thrive on these games."

Paul Patel, who has missed the last two games, is available again.

Pewsey Vale who have only won four times in 14 games meet the league's draw speciaists Oxfordshire side Hook Norton.

In Division One West leaders Purton travel to Old Woodstock.

"It is a hard game," said boss Alan Clark. "We have drawn the last four league games but should have won them all. We are playing well but need a bit more luck."

Shrivenham, in sixth place and with games in hand, meet Malmesbury Vics.

Tom Jones returns but still sidelined are Gio Desando (ankle), Doug Imrie (knee) and Vinnie Parker (hamstring).

"We need to get back to winning ways and out of the middle of the table," said manager Alan Dyton. "We have games in hand because of cup commitments, so the next two games are important.

"Malmesbury are an unpredictable side. But if we play to our capabilities I fully expect us to take the three points."
