A COUPLE from Holt who launched their own range of organic ready-meals for children have brought out a Christmas recipe to bring in more customers.
Angus and Shoo Oliphant founded Miniscoff in 1999 when they were living in London with two small children.
They moved to Holt in 2000 to expand the business and started making all the meals themselves on a bigger scale, using a specially adapted unit to prepare and store frozen meals.
Mr Oliphant said: "Miniscoff launched the first products into the market in January sourcing all ingredients from the west country.
"There are now up to 10 different recipes and an expanding group of hotels and delis climbing on board."
The business proposal was inspired by the couple's experiences cooking for their own sons Freddie, six, and Oscar, four.
The couple met representatives from Center Parcs, Warminster, this week to discuss the possibility of stocking Miniscoff meals in its restaurants.
Mr Oliphant said: "With parents growing ever more concerned about hidden nasties in prepared foods we use no additives or substitutes and only organic produce for a cleaner, tastier and completely traceable product."
Rudolph's Big Fat Christmas Pie has been developed in time for the festive market and Miniscoff products are available locally from Maples Delicatessen, Bradford on Avon and Whitehall Garden Centre, Lacock.
Mrs Oliphant said: "Running your own business is hard work but great fun because we never know what we will be doing from one day to the next.
Mr Oliphant said: "We are doing well for our first year in business and we will always be an attractive proposition for supermarkets but I think we are both more focussed on the quality of the product than expanding too fast too soon."
