SWINDON Council's services directorate has been told it can continue to do asbestos removal work.
Last month the directorate underwent a review by the Health and Safety Executive, which has control over the number of contractors authorised to remove the toxic material.
The executive is responsible for controlling and monitoring the removal and disposal of asbestos by around 700 authorised contractors in the UK and it has the power to revoke or refuse licences.
During the review, council officers were interviewed to check their knowledge of regulations and removal methods.
