Again we have been amazed at the support shown for our recent events, namely our Halloween party and firework display. When last year's firework display received an attendance of 400 people we were amazed. This year, with over 750 visitors, the figure was nearly doubled.
With over 317 tickets sold in advance, much of which was due to the hard work of the office staff at Bitham Brook School, we are delighted to be able to make a presentation of over £150 to the school to assist in the purchase of new playground equipment. This money was raised by 50p from each advance ticket.
Halloween went down a storm again this year, aided as always by Michelle Slade and her spooky story time, Chris Pearce who provided lighting and sound and Dave Pickford for his amazing smoke machine. Thanks to you all for your assistance.
Approximately 80 children were dressed up and all looked great, and the overall champion, James Buck, was given the opportunity to set off the first firework on November 5.
Thank you to the people in Westbury very sincerely for your encouragement and attendance. We love to do these things. and though we are often warned at the start of projects about Westbury apathy, we see no sign of this and are thrilled by the support the Horse and Groom receives.
Thank you once again
