THE Wiltshire Times is offering the chance for a community hero to win £500 for their favourite charity thanks to a partnership with Tesco Express.
We have teamed up with the convenience store chain for the search to find a local hero to open the new Tesco Express store in Eastbourne Road, Trowbridge.
The new store, opening on December 15, replaces the One Stop shop, which is currently closed for refurbishment.
Tesco has increased the number of Tesco Express stores across the country after customers asked for smaller outlets, conveniently located in their local community.
The new shop will offer customers over 2,000 product lines with fresh and chilled ranges including a bakery, fruit and vegetables and ready meals along with frozen food, tinned products, cereals and pasta and sauces.
Other essentials available will include toiletries, newspapers and magazines, beers, wines and spirits and fresh flowers.
There will also be access to a non-chargeable cash point machine.
We are now looking for someone who selflessly carries out good deeds for others, dedicates their time to a worthy cause or has overcome difficult circumstances and come out on top, to open the latest store.
If you think you know someone worthy enough to be nominated as a local hero, we want to hear from you.
The person selected will receive £500 to give to a charity of their choice and must be available to perform the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the opening of the new Tesco Express on Monday December 15.
The doors of the Tesco Express will open for the first time at 8am on December 15 with the official opening ceremony at 10.30am.
The store will then be open 6am to 11pm, seven days a week.
To nominate a local hero send details of why you have chosen them, along with your name, address and a daytime telephone number and that of the person you are nominating to: Tesco Express Search for a Local Hero, Wiltshire Times, 15 Duke Street, Trowbridge, BA14 8EF to arrive no later than Monday December 1.
