MAKE HILL STREET SAFE: THE FAMILY of Michael Davies will quiz council officials next week over proposed changes to roads near where the 16-year-old Trowbridge schoolboy died.
Wiltshire County Council will unveil its plans for the road, cycle and pedestrian network around the former Ushers plant at The Shires on Monday.
Members of the public can write down comments and quiz officials from the county council and Ringway Parkman between 12.30pm and 1.30pm on each of the six days of the exhibition.
The display of plans will move to the town library at the beginning of December.
Michael Davies, 58, has been fighting for changes to Hill Street since his teenage son was knocked down by a council skip lorry, as he walked home from John of Gaunt School seven years ago. He said: "They have no excuse not to implement safe and proper changes as they have the money now.
"Looking at their first set of plans they have done nothing to make the road safer for children walking home from school."
The Wiltshire Times relaunched the Make Hill Street Safe campaign last month to ensure the Davies' pleas were not ignored for a second time. Consultation will continue up until Christmas and a comprehensive design for the scheme could be produced by spring.
