WILTSHIRE FA's Youth side created history on Saturday after crashing 11 goals past Devon in their first match in the South West Counties Championship at Ottery St Mary.
This was the most goals ever scored by a Wiltshire side in one match and also the biggest margin of defeat for any Devon side.
County manager Mel Gingell was proud to have witnessed history being made.
He said: "The best thing about the result was being part of a bit of history of Wiltshire football.
"It was a one-off and will probably never happen again. The lads played brilliantly and everything we did went right."
Wiltshire finished runners up in the championship last season and Gingell is hopeful his side can go one better this season.
He said: "We have a very, very good team and have to be aiming to win the championship.
"After getting knocked out of the county cup the other week, thanks to a disastrous refereeing decision, we have to win the league.
"It was important we won our first game. Devon lost to Dorset in their opening match the other week and so we have to be confident of doing well."
Bemerton Heath's Rob Ivermee stole the show as he scored four goals, including a 20-minute first half hat-trick.
The other goals were scored by Ricky Hulbert, Trowbridge Town, Luke Denham, Corsham Town, Lee Davidson, Warminster Town, Yan Klukowski, Bath City youth, Rob Stephens (2), Corsham Town and Westbury's Tom Welch.
Wiltshire's next match in the Championship is on January 10 away at Guernsey.
