Ref. 27598A WOMAN from Bradford on Avon is raising cash to buy loos for 100 families in India starting with a Loo Day at her home.

Julie Davies has bought five loos so far for families in Andhra Pradesh. Mrs Davies said: "I have been to the village and it is so remote it took several days to get there.

"It may take me years to raise all the money so this Loo Day could become an annual event." Anyone is welcome and there will be stalls and refreshments.

Mrs Davies got involved with Save The Children after the death of her daughter Elizabeth Ann 13 years ago.

The Loo Day at Whitehaven, which is opposite the Leigh Park Hotel on the Bradford Leigh crossroads, from 2-6pm today and 10am-2pm tomorrow.
