STUDENTS at a Trowbridge secondary school were given the chance to quiz a host of invited guests as part of a citizenship in the community day.
Wiltshire Times reporter Craig Evry and deputy editor Keith Gale joined a collection of other guests for the event at Clarendon School on Friday, including West Wilts MP Andrew Murrison and The Earl of Stockton.
With each of the guests hosting three 55-minute seminars, Year 11 students had the chance to learn about key issues affecting them and their local community.
Co-ordinator John Whitehead said: "The aim of the day was to make the pupils more aware of what is happening in their local community and provide opportunities for them to become more involved."
Mr Gale said he was pleased with the response of students to discussions about the Wiltshire Times.
He said: "All the students were keen to learn about the role papers play in their local community.
"They were very inquisitive and asked some searching questions."
