WOOTTON BASSETT Town Council staff are once again supporting Operation Christmas Child and are looking for donations.
Operation Christmas Child is a programme which supports needy children in desperate situations around the world.
Town councillors are looking for donations such as toiletries, toys, sweets, pens, crayons and stationery.
Operation Christmas Child enables children who would otherwise not receive presents to open gift-filled shoe boxes during the festive season.
The programme provides an opportunity for individuals of all ages to be involved in a simple hands-on project that reaches out to suffering children.
In 2002, more than six million shoe boxes were collected worldwide and distributed to children in more than 95 countries.
The town council staff in Wootton Bassett are hoping to match last year's donation of 50 shoe boxes and hope that with public support last year's target will be exceeded.
